Easyfairs invests in construction, home and lifestyle trade fairs

One acquisition and two new initiatives for an even stronger presence in the construction, home and lifestyle sector

Ghent, 30 May 2016

Easyfairs has become the new owner of construction trade fair Wonen and is also launching two other new initiatives: Spring@Countryside and Inside Out.

These Easyfairs events are targeted towards people interested in construction, renovation, home, garden and lifestyle. The group is currently already organising trade fairs Bis, Bouw & Reno, Bois & Habitat, Energie & Habitat, Batireno and Countryside+ and this addition to its portfolio makes it the perfect partner for the construction, home and lifestyle sector.

Easyfairs has become the new owner of construction trade fair Wonen, which takes place annually at Nekkerhal – Brussels North in Mechelen. At each edition, 250 exhibitors demonstrate the latest techniques and trends in construction and interior design to 20,000 visitors. The 2017 edition will take place from 28 January to 5 February 2017.

Following this acquisition, the Hout & Habitat exhibition of wood and natural construction materials and home goods will no longer be held at Antwerp Expo, but will be integrated as a separate area of the Wonen trade fair.

From 24 to 27 February 2017, Easyfairs will launch its first Spring@Countryside edition, a brand-new rural lifestyle fair at Nekkerhal – Brussels North in Mechelen. Spring@Countryside is the spring edition of the well-known Countryside+ fair held at Flanders Expo in Ghent every autumn. The event guarantees a fresh, new range from the world of wellness, home, food, tourism and crafts, but also offers inspiring, practical workshops.

The second new Easyfairs initiative in the sector is Inside Out, an event for everyone interested in home, garden and swimming pools. Inside Out aims to bring people together by offering valuable information and guidance to make the right choices inside and outside the home. Its range includes the latest trends, well-established brands and a unique total experience. ‘Inside Out’ will take place for the first time at Flanders Expo in Ghent from 11 to 19 March 2017.

Head of the construction, home and lifestyle event unit Manou Van der Brempt describes it as follows:

“Easyfairs always strives towards putting visitors first. In this digitised society, people are looking for relevant information, inspiration, experiences and human contact to explore their plans and to ensure they take the right decisions.

The new initiatives Wonen, Spring@Countryside and Inside Out respond to these needs and guide people in their search for an ideal home.”
